Summary

Our Greek Level 2 course is designed for beginners. Learners joining this course will have completed the Greek Level 1 course with us or they will have previous recent experience of studying the Greek language. The course is fun and interactive. Although emphasis is on speaking and listening, you will build your reading and writing skills in Greek too.

You'll be encouraged to work in pairs or small groups in online breakout rooms, as well participate in whole class activities. There will be role-plays, activities based on common scenarios and you'll be introduced to basic grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.

To participate in online classes you will need a reliable internet connection, a computer/laptop/tablet with fully updated browser (preferably Google Chrome). Your device will need a microphone, and preferably a camera. Once you are enrolled on the course, you will receive detailed instructions for taking part in the class.

This course will take place over 10 weeks and is Term 1 of a 3 Term Course (terms 2 and 3 will be offered later in the academic year). This means that the full Greek Level 2 course takes place over 30 weeks in total. Catch up classes will take place if the teacher is unable to make their original scheduled class at the end of the term. Refunds will only be given if the teacher is unable to give a replacement class in the Catch up Class week.

Concessionary rates are available only to those who are full time students and those we are in receipt of unemployment benefits. Evidence of your status will be requested by a member of the Evening Class Team, before payment is taken.

You can pay for one term (10 weeks) or save £30 and pay for the entire academic year in advance (30 weeks). See costs below.

The deadline for all payments and therefore bookings will be 48 hours after you have made your booking (otherwise your booking will be cancelled).

Our courses are popular and often oversubscribed so we advise you to book your place as soon as possible.

Outcomes

This course will introduce you to different tenses in the target language, meaning that by the end of the course, you should be able to communicate in the past and describe actions that will take place in the future. You should also be able to understand simple texts, catch the main point of announcements and write messages in the target language. Your course will cover topics such as: · Revision and extension of topics in Level 1 · Describing and making future plans · Using the language to visit the pharmacy or doctor and explain what has happened · Requesting information and making complaints in hotels, restaurants and shops
